好多時候在朋友的家食一餐便飯就有三菜一湯，就覺得非常溫馨。在家里，通常都是打包飯盒或吃一碗白粥加咸蛋。平時也很少一家人圍著幾樣飯菜，一邊夾菜，一邊食飯。所以，我非常珍惜每一次一家同桌吃飯的時間。

每一餐，不只是一個填飽肚子的時候；而是一個與家人溝通的良好機會。好多人也許會覺得要等全家人一起用餐是一件極度麻煩的事情。但係，我卻很希望每一日o既每一餐都有幾樣簡單的送加上一碗熱騰騰的濃湯在桌上，一家三口有傾有講，有說有笑，共度日日的晚餐。

The noise from the television set and the cars on the road is taking away the concentration I require to do my math sums. The air is stale and oxygen seems scarce in my room. But here I am, listening to 'Love Story' and reading a book.

A Sunday shouldn't be like this, especially when you've got a whole load of tests to prepare for the week to come. I need oxygen to support the activities my brain cells should be performing. I need silence too.

Chinese New Year is just next week but I haven't exactly got enough clothes for the 3 days of visiting. I've only gotten a pair of pants and some new accessories (Tibet style, sexy). I'll get more accessories and I am in a desperate need for new tops. My tops are getting old and boring. I'm just hoping not to overspend, although I always do.

After 2 weeks of school, I still feel floating around like a ghost aimlessly. I haven't set any resolutions. I do have a couple of things I'd like to achieve but I haven't really sat down to think, how?

I guess I really need to start getting more serious when it comes to preparing for the pretty intimidating, big Os. I need the confidence I need too.

I'd be a happier child if I don't have such a pile of homework to complete. And my head is being an absolute nuisance because it hurts as though I'm having a hangover. Once again, am blaming it on the homework load.

Maybe I should go to bed early tonight, after sleepless nights and waking up too early in the morning for school and other stuff. I smell medicated oil and it sucks because I am more or less allergic to it.

On a lighter note, I spent $100+ today and I'm a happy kid because retail therapy is always best.

Last day of the year tomorrow. We'll see.

Christmas is over and it's time to wake up from the ever so wonderful holidays (although it could have been better) and start clearing that pile of homework.

It's exactly a week till school starts and I am more or less clueless about what and how sec 4 is going to be. Besides hoping I'll work harder eventually and pray that everything will turn out alright, there's pretty much nothing I can do now.

2009 will be a year I have to be hardworking and not spend too much time on films and photographs. Maybe I'll only work on those photo shoot ideas I've got after the big Os. Who knows? I'll probably need to work on a productive time table as well. Something that I will, hopefully, stick closely to.

Meanwhile, Happy Boxing Day.

Caught Four Christmases with Daphne and Janell yesterday after math tuition(seriously killed me). It was Monday yet the theatre was almost full. We sat at the 3rd row from the front and the dude sitting beside was, at some point of time, funnier than the movie because of his pretty awkward way of laughing.

After that we had dinner at ThaiExpress, which both Janell and I took some effort into persuading Daphne to join us because she doesn't really like ThaiExpress. But oh well, her food turned out nice, better than what I took, I guess?

I took a train home after that, and the train ride was pretty scary because the cabin I was in had no chairs so it was really empty. (You can really dance in there, trust me) Strange feeling.

Today was another day at the same place for tuition and what's cool is there were only 2 people (including myself) for chemistry today and it turned out very productive for me and some funny moments were stirred up when Little Miss Loi was out photocopying something for us.

The best thing is, after chemistry tuition, I decided to go for a cycle and I did! 20km :) A step closer to the attempt of being a fit kid! (Yeah right, I'm eating instant noodles for dinner now)

China Exchange Trip Part 3: Random, Interesting Bits

I know China trip's been quite awhile ago but yes I have left out some stuff.

1) In Shanghai, some woman tried to sell me those wheels that can be attached to shoes so it would work like heelys, if you remember what they are. She followed me half the street through, and slashed the price of a pair of those wheels from RMB60(if I didn't remember wrongly) to RMB20. To escape from her, Amelia, Trixy and I rushed to a shopping mall to hide for a couple of minutes.

2) Quoted from Amelia:

"I was looking through my backpack when this asshole shuffed the card into my opened bag. It was too dark to see who it was, but i bet it was some kid (around our age, i mean). I'd have given him hell for being rude if I caught him.
Anyway, back to the point. When we were at this place, this man just threw the card into Joey's shopping bag and walked away. Freaking hell rude.
I was so bloody pissed I told him in chinese,
你回来！
"You come back!" (The guy really came back, because I shouted at him)
你拿回去好了
"Take this back."
不要乱放
"Don't just put this anywhere"

Uhm yeah. The guy came back and took the card. I swear I was so freaking angry."

I was so shocked but yea, good job Amelia! :D Oh and something to add, she shouted "Siao ah!" at the dude who threw the card into my shopping bag at Shanghai Bund and she asked me if the china guy would understand siao. Hahah!

3) Everyone of us kept shopping even until the last day of the trip! We didn't manage to try the famous xiao long baos in Shanghai because if we were to, we would miss our lunch/the flight.

Yes, tonight is another one of those sleepless nights I have to encounter again. It's 3am in the morning and I have a cup of noodles on my left and some (pretty much failed) chocolate cookiesI just baked in the kitchen.

Tons of packing completed from the last few days. I kicked it off with a 6 hour full motivation to throw a lot of things away: Things that I don't need, don't like, don't use. Gave some really new and good looking stuff to my cousins who thanked me so much for that and I also took the hassle to bring used paper down to the recycle bin in the basement.

Bought a new bed and a new table. Removed a cupboard and a bookshelf in my room.

Found some long lost "treasures". (I was so happy to find my ipod's fm transmitter! It was buried in a heavy pile of books and paper)

So three cheers for myself. Although I took all the time I've got to pack and sort of, revamp the room and did not touch a single bit of the remaining load of holiday assignments.

I have spent about 3 days on my room. What's left is to repaint it and it should me more or less done. Can't wait, really can't wait.

I miss China, a lot. In fact, the 10 days spent there are almost the happiest days spent during this November.

The above picture's taken with the tour guide. She had to speak to us in English because we had friends who didn't understand Mandarin. So anyway, she managed to deliver and everything turned out nice. She finds us(Amelia and I) funny and we find her cute too.

I really want to go back to China. For another trip or something.

By the way, the weather has been really bad these few days. The heat is unbearable. I wish Singapore could snow.

China Exchange Trip Part 2

Here's my buddy, Jianing. I stayed with her for 6 nights. And yea, she's wearing her uniform. Although it was a short while, we spent great times together and knowing each other better. Her family took great care of me and I had so crabs for so many meals during my stay!

China Exchange Trip Part 1

Amelia was almost like my buddy throughout the trip! Almost all the photos in my camera are taken with her.

The last ten days were really good, it was great to leave Singapore and well, just enjoy a whole new environment. Pollution was disturbing, and I couldn't stand the massive number of smokers in China. But overall, most people in Hangzhou were nice (Shanghai, maybe not all) so it's alright I guess.

I think I'll officially move back to blogger and let my livejournal be a place where I insert my flickr photographs in posts.

If you were expecting a post about Hangzhou then perhaps you would be diasppointed because I'm not updating about that. Will do one long one with those magnificient, and some silly photographs when I get myself back to the tropical island.

People may think I read hocc's blog because I simply love her voice or her productions ya da ya da. Well pehaps that was the reason why I first stumbled on her blog. However, what kept me going back again and again was the kind of impact and influence those words she posts have on me.

For example, her recent entry mentioned how we should believe in ourselves. I know that is cliche but sometimes humans need constant reminders and her post came in handy because I stumbled on this post when I was crestfallen and felt suppressed, oppressed, like a failure. And the jump shots she did to accompany those simple yet enlightening words were really helpful. (If you think they're lame, I can't help it)

Her entries kind of changed my diet as well. She posted this video on her blog and it totally stopped me from eating pork since a couple of months ago:

(the video was trying to stop people from killing animals and eating meat and to be a vegetarian and all but yeah, I really can't. So pork's what I won't eat.)

Hang Zhou!

HELLO I'M HERE IN CHINA!

Okay so I arrived at China late yesterday night and I was staying at this Shanghai hotel which I had to sleep on extremely hard beds and yeah. I only managed to catch 2 hours of sleep or something. I ended up watching Amelia trying to find the most perfect posture she could have on that hard bed at 5 in the morning when I woke up. Quite funny.

Oh and Amelia said something really funny and I said I was going to blog about it but I forgot what it was. Nvm, you get it.

Oh back track, the plane ride. Watched Wall.E and Happy Funeral(I cried!) on the plane. The international meal was cool, I used the cheese spread that was meant for the crackers on the bun so I made buns taste good for once!

Then today was really short and simple. It was just, coach ride and I slept and we had lunch and shopped for awhile. Amelia, Chermaine and I wanted to get SIM cards very badly but didn't in the end because of the hassle and all. Then we walked around the area we could shop at and there was nothing buy. We were quite disappointed so we ended up having ice cream and Dairyqueen or something. BLIZZARD. Oh and at dairyqueen, I had problems pronouncing the flavour name of the BLIZZARD I wanted and the guy at the counter ended up correcting me! I should have hidden my face somewhere or something.

Then I arrived at 14th Middle School which apparantly is a top school in Hang Zhou. Met my buddy and she brought me for macs dinner due to the time. They are really nice and that's also why I'm here blogging because she let me use her computer! :D Then it was the china supermarket and then her home.

I'm tired now and I'm off for journal reflection and yeah goodnight!

I'm a little homesick btw.

Am on the verge of /wrists right now. Not acting emo or anything, you know I never do that. Now, I live my life on froot loops because they're the only colours I can add to my life. The only sparkle I'm about to have would be The Gem of Life which airs tomorrow (poster below, I love it!). Speaking of froot loops, I am about to finish a big box of them by tonight or tomorrow I guess, and I just bought them on Friday. (See the desperate need for colours)

Back to the /wrists issue. Perhaps I am needing some emotional support. I have not been feeling quite myself these few days and I really hope I do not break down, at least anytime soon. Like the market. Oh how the economy is collapsing hurts.

School kicks off again tomorrow and well, last week of school; one more week to Sec 4s. Not looking forward to school/being called a sec 4 at all, no. I like the times when FYEs are over and yeah, and the distance there is being next year beginning. Too bad time doesn't pause whenever I want to.

Off to get froot loops, my life saviour.

Life has been really busy for the past couple of days, like a total load of things to do. And I am not ill and lying on a bed with panadols by my side, mind you.

Besides the recent updates of my well, life, I have this obsession over mascara right now. It seems as if I cannot leave the house without it on the tip of my eyelashes. (Am absolutely not a fan of fake eyelashes please, oh gosh) But what annoys me is simply the chore of clearing them. I occasionally detach a few, and pretty long lashes off the edge of my eyelid, what a sore.

Ciao for now. Need to do some shopping, online, like new clothes for the ipod touch because the current one's too loose for it. Trying to get sumajin but I'll see. And yeah, I really need to get some rest as well and tomorrow is off for shopping again for the Hang Zhou trip in early November.

For some silly, non-existent reason, I really miss my passport.

Oh and Happy Birthday, Michaela! Just like how you replied me in your sms, we're both old. Yeah, we sure are. Happy, or sad.

To the many Crescentians who spotted me with bloodshot eyes, yes, I cried. It was difficult to accept the fact that the sec 4s were leaving. Especially Priscilla, and the many other seniors, especially those from council. I am still feeling strange over the fact that the whole sec 4s are gone.

Cold-blooded Kana who didn't cry or feel anything that day is so entirely not selfless. All she could think of and harp on is the fact that we are going to be sec 4s in weeks! Oh great, or is it oh no?!

I have a difficulty linking energy with my mind. Fatigue is starting to build up in me, even though it's only noon. I ought to be revising for literature and social studies (at least!) and even more, like my amaths homework from tuition and the sciences. Not forgetting geography, which I haven't touched.

Oh well, just to keep track on how I've been "advancing" in preparations, for the exams. On a lighter note, all these crap will be over after the 8th Oct.

Today had a strange kick off.

My eyes were half opened at 6.30am, packing my bag for the day. I heard my phone vibrating vigorously and went to pick it. Gladys phoned me and she requested for a ride to school because there were no cabs outside the side/back gate of the estate. So I sent her to school. I was almost late for school today because I refused to wake up and spent a few precious minutes contemplating if I should go to school. (My back hurt after waking up from a horrible nightmare and yeah, Monday Blues)

So I rushed to school. After my dad alighted me at the foyer (with Gladys of course), I ran to the mini forum in the shortest time and EXCOs were really mean! They were anticipating my absence today at school so Cynthia will freak out because she is my reserve for pledge duty. (Kana you meanpok)

Lessons were fine. As usual, Chemistry is Greek, Amath fried my brain cells and Literature was hilarious. I almost fell asleep during Emath.

Not good.

Racing with time

Nothing's bothering much besides time. Basically exams' a stone's throw away and I am not exactly prepared for any paper. Especially chemistry. I realised how weak my concepts are for chemistry. For geography and biology, I lack the little details. I have problems comprehending literature texts. I need to learn how to write my Essay Questions for Social Studies appropriately and learn how to infer from sources like cartoons. Chinese, just when I thought it was my best subject, my grades are going down the drain. English, oh English, oh how I wish I could express myself clearly when writing. Math, oh how can I forget, the Amath and the Emath, they cause my brain cells fried and the extent of the pain is definitely not negligible. Physics is fine for now, as long the teachers do not put anything from the first semester into the final year paper.

Tomorrow's the English paper and there's nothing much I can do about it. My CA grades for English is horrendous too thus, there's no way I can count on it.

I need help, but I guess no one can lend me a helping hand. Only I can help myself now.

That was really sweet of you Cynthia. Sorry for seeing it only after 4 days of being in the pink of health.

Today wasn't very productive. I didn't manage to complete any weekend assignments which include Emath and Geography. Maybe there's more to the list, but I really don't want to know about them.

On a lighter note, I bought a new calculator! Casio's fx-82AU.

Casio's always a better choice.

Bunked with Ariel, Christabel, Chyan Wen, Jia En. Sorry Jia En for making so much noise every night.

Didn't manage to do as much work as I thought I could during the 2 night stay at Nacli's Pasir Panjang 301. Activities took away all my energy and time. By the time I was ready to do what I wanted, lights had to be off. Even if that wasn't the case, my eyes would not have the will to remain wide open and my brain would once again, malfunction. Well, at least I did a chinese cloze passage.

I enjoyed the camp, besides the fact of the bad fall and mosquito bites and captains ball(not because my team didn't win okay! But I don't get why we play captains ball during camp). Besides that, it was a 3 day continuation of insanity.

Especially the last day of camp. We have to report at 7.30am every morning for assembly but nobody gave a damn to Ariel's pretty much alarming (and very freaky that sounds-like-Artrillian) alarm. Beauty sleep is always more important. Oh well, the 5 people in 301 happily woke up at 7.15am and we rushed down to report! We went there at 7.31am!!!!! Thank god we weren't the latest to arrive or else it'd be so embarrassing.

Am awaiting for some more photographs from Chyan Wen :)

p/s I realised my dream of raising a flag since P1 during NACLI! Yes, I raised the NACLI flag. Wasn't very well raised and it was stressful because the guides were raising the other two. I didn't do it too well but at least I did it :)

Due to the daily visits to Cold Storage recently, I've actually gained a few pounds. Every visit to Cold Storage doesn't leave me going home empty handed. And every trip to the kitchen makes me want to take something to eat.

Thus, the a slice of bread a meal/only dinner(school doesn't sell milk bread) scheme will start on Monday. Plus, I'm having salad for lunch tomorrow. (Entirely coincidental, mind you)

又病倒了

今天病倒了1我剛剛看了醫生﹐沖完涼吃完藥﹐很辛苦。

由于我剛沖涼﹐頭髮很濕﹐無法躺在床上入眠。因為吃了藥﹐感覺到自己的免疫系
統在利用九牛二虎之力幫我大敗這病。

前幾天﹐我要病不病﹐所以近幾天所喝的涼茶比起我上幾年所喝的多幾倍。但是很
不幸的﹐最終還是大病一場。希望能儘快出一身大汗﹐不再發燒﹐明天可以上學﹗

Update: 5 Aug 08; 沒發燒了﹐但是還是咳嗽咳得很厲害。

聽日要返學﹐由6點幾起身﹐七點準時開課﹐三點三放學。放學後又有council會要

開﹐需要留係學校成六點七點左右做0野先可以離開學校。返到屋企都成八點鐘啦﹗

可以開始做功課溫書都九點鐘。唔只星期二council需要留到0甘夜﹕星期二三四都

有類似情況。所以話﹐以家做學生真係唔容易﹐要做一個成績優良0既學生更加難﹗

You would perhaps ponder, why another blog, Joey?

I'd love to continue filling up chapters my life at pluckthoseflowers.org but because it's a paid domain, I feel obliged to make use of the space I have got with all the fanciful plug-ins wordpress offers. However, time restricts me from doing so. Therefore, since I do not feel so guilty for abandoning pluckthoseflowers today, I decided to start a new blog with blogger.

I am also making this blog cantonese, english and chinese. I have been owning quite a number of blogs, separating my entries of different languages. However, I have decided to merge them all into one, since they would all be written by myself.

Sometimes I choose to express myself in different languages because my brain always processes information and thoughts I may have in the different languages I can comprehend and compose with.

Will be around again soon.
